What Shepherd Is

Shepherd is an AI feature within the Angelic Bible App designed to help you explore the King James Version of the Bible, reflect on Scripture, generate prayers, and find spiritual encouragement. Shepherd uses artificial intelligence (powered by the Anthropic API) to generate responses based on biblical text and theological knowledge.

What Shepherd Is Not

• Not a counselor or therapist. Shepherd cannot diagnose, treat, or provide professional mental health services. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a licensed professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
• Not a clergy member. No clergy-penitent privilege, pastoral confidentiality, or any form of professional privilege applies to your conversations with Shepherd. Your conversations are processed by AI systems and are not protected by any religious or legal privilege.
• Not infallible. Shepherd may occasionally produce inaccurate Scripture references, theological interpretations that differ from your tradition, or responses that are incomplete. Always verify important references by reading the Scripture text directly.
• Not a substitute for community. Shepherd is designed to supplement — not replace — your relationship with a local church, pastor, spiritual director, or faith community.

Accuracy & Limitations

While Shepherd is designed to be faithful to Scripture and theologically sound, it is an AI system with inherent limitations:

• Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors
• Scripture quotations should always be verified against the biblical text
• Theological interpretations may not reflect every Christian tradition or denomination
• Shepherd cannot understand the full context of your personal situation the way a human pastor or counselor would

Your Responsibility

By using Shepherd, you acknowledge that:

• You will not rely solely on Shepherd for spiritual direction, medical decisions, or life-altering choices
• You understand that Shepherd’s responses are AI-generated and may not be perfectly accurate
• You will seek professional help if you are in crisis or need professional counseling
• You will verify Scripture references independently
